Our process
From thoughtful first conversations to a precise professional installation, every step is personally managed to make creating your custom space clear, collaborative, and enjoyable.
A simple, personalized path from idea to installation.
1. First Appointment
Most first appointments take approximately one to two hours, depending on the size and complexity of your space. We’ll take the time needed to understand your storage needs, take accurate measurements, and discuss design options, materials, finishes, and budget.
Before your appointment, consider what is working in your current space, what you would like to improve, and which items need to be stored. If you have inspiration photos, preferred colors, or specific accessories in mind, feel free to share them with your designer.
2. Design consultation
You’ll review detailed 3D renderings that show how your custom space will look and function. Your designer will walk you through the layout, materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories, answer your questions, and discuss any adjustments you’d like to make.
Absolutely. We’ll review the design with you and make any necessary adjustments to the layout, materials, finishes, hardware, or accessories. Production begins only after you are comfortable with the final design and have approved the project.
3. Engineering & production
After approval, your finalized plans are reviewed by our engineering team to confirm that all measurements, structural details, and specifications are accurate. Once the plans are approved for production, your custom components are manufactured specifically for your space.
If our engineering team recommends a modification, your designer will explain the change and review the updated plan with you. Nothing moves into production until any necessary adjustments have been approved.
4. Professional installation
To help installation proceed safely and efficiently, please remove all clothing and personal belongings from the project area before our team arrives. We also ask that you provide a clear, designated workspace for cutting and assembly, as well as convenient parking for our installation van. Your designer will review any additional project-specific requirements with you in advance.
Closets by Angie will remove existing wire shelving and apply one coat of drywall compound to the resulting holes at no additional charge. Additional patching, sanding, priming, and painting are not included. If you would like the walls fully repaired or painted before installation, please discuss the schedule with your designer in advance and arrange for the work to be completed before installation day.
Installation time depends on the size and complexity of your project. Most installations are completed within one to two days, while larger or more detailed projects may require additional time. Your designer will provide an estimated installation schedule before work begins.
